Abstract | Presents data from the Chicago Public Schools to provide a context for exploring student mobility. Discusses the potential disruption of curriculum and instruction, circularity of mobility, and effects of mobility on academic achievement. Highlights two Chicago initiatives that respond to the policy implications. One increases awareness about the effects of mobility on achievement. The other initiative opens school buildings beyond the school day and extends resources to families. (SM) |
